What do we believe?
To begin with...
We are on a mission for all people... to go and make disciples in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by baptizing and teaching. (mission)
The Bible, while penned by dozens of human authors in various historical contexts, has really one author: God. (inspiration)
Everything that exists in our world was created perfectly by God, and to this day life is sustained by His fatherly, divine goodness and mercy. (creation)
Sin entered the world as the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God resulting in death. (original sin; fall)
Sin still clings to us as our thoughts, words, and actions are contrary to God’s will for our lives. It damages our relationships with God and others and, if untreated, results in eternal death. (actual sin)
In response to our sin, God sent His son, Jesus, true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (incarnation & virgin birth)
Jesus’ earthly life of bringing about the kingdom of God in preaching, teaching, and healing culminated in a cross and an empty tomb. (kingdom, death & resurrection; redemption)
Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven, and He lives and reigns eternally. (ascension & sovereignty)
The Holy Spirit was Jesus’ parting gift to all who believe in Him. The Spirit creates and sustains faith in Jesus and empowers us to worship and witness in His name. (sanctification)
Jesus will come again at the end of time to judge the living and the dead, and give eternal life in the new heavens and new earth to all who believe in Him. (eschatology; restoration)
